I love spending all my time in my head, I am what one would call a bit of a daydreamer, I like crafting stories and characters and dialogue constantly, everything anyone says to me, can and will be used against them in my stories. I adore stories of all formats and genres and am incredibly not picky, as long as it is good I don’t care how it is presented or what it is about. Realistic characters and a good plot are all I ask for. I’ve had friends and colleagues who say “oh that’s fantastic I am not picky either”, yeah that was a big, fat, lie, I literally mean I will go for reading sugar sweet, historical romance, to dark, gore-filled, demented horror, and every imaginable thing in between. And that’s just on Mondays. I like to read stories that surprise you, with characters you fall for, men you wish were real, events that leave you gasping, and dialogue that makes you smile. I want to fall in love with the book, to think about it too much, talk about it too much, become way too overly invested. This love of stories also filters out to other formats of telling as well. I love movies, tv shows, comics, manga, narrative poetry (if they don’t get too crazy on me, as well as some specific poets, basically my relationship with poetry is really weird and cannot be defined by words or categories).
Someday I am going to be an author, and will die of excitement when my book makes up on a shelf! I am going to make it happen just you wait!
I am a Trekkie, and a Whovian. Tolkien is my master of Fantasy, I love the Supernatural family, Asimov my lord of Sci-Fi, Wilde the commander of wit. One Punch Man sets me off into hysterical giggles, and Castlevania left me literally dying for more at only four episodes. (Richard Armitage has the sexiest voice.) Marvel stands at the top, with more than enough content to keep me ridiculously entertained till I dry away to dust. Captain America is my darling man of justice and truth, “I can feel the righteousness surging”. DC follows next, with movies that are flagging (except: Wonder Woman, yeah!), but comics that are both insightful, dark, and poignant. (The Joker is my villain. Scary psychopathic bastard.) I know all the words to the songs from Galvant, hilarious show by the way. And I play them way too loud in my car when I drive. The Disney songs are little better, and I still sing them with all my heart. (Eugene Fitzherbert, my charming thief). Literary men are way too attractive, and I really shouldn’t love them as much as I do.
I love to draw, specifically superheroes. I love the style, the thick dark lines, I love all the penwork and then going over all that with bold watercolors, making it all pop before you, till you have a superhero staring back, epic and ready to defend the world. Most of all I love spending time with my family, spending a nice relaxing day with them, (even if we do argue).
History, specifically the myths of the greeks and the knights of the medieval, fascinate me, there is so much to be learned from the past. Creative writing is my passion, I adore food (devouring it mostly), and reading in what spare time I have.
That’s a little about me! So tell me about yourself in the comments and what things it is that sustain you and give you life.
Well, hope I didn’t scare you off,
